About
Beth Greenawalt
Background:
As a stay at home mother,
I was frustrated by my inability to get things done regularly. The
house always seemed messy, the laundry was always piled up, I would
miss or forget about appointments and when was I ever going to get
to the stuff on the desk?!! There were always interruptions and
a task would sit unfinished while another was started. My priority
was my daughter and her needs and everything else took second place.
When I found I had unexpected time on my hands, often it would be
wasted because I couldn’t decide what to do, or I thought
the task would take longer than I had time for so I wouldn’t
even start.
Organizing my time did
not come naturally to me. I realized that I had to learn how to
organize my time in order to organize my life. After much reading
and researching, I started to compile the ideas that worked for
me. I learned the beauty of routines, the fulfillment and peace
associated with focusing on a task and completing it and the magic
of using a timer!
I learned the best way
to use a family calendar so that everyone knows what is going on
and I learned how to find time for me everyday so that I would have
the energy to tackle all the day held. Most of what I learned is
very simple. These are the things that I want to share with you.
Organizing my space has
always been easy for me. It seems natural to create logical homes
for items so that I always know where everything is. When I worked
part time with adults with ADD, I was often asked “Will this
help me organize my desk?” I realized that many people just
don’t know some of the simple techniques that would help them
find a way through their clutter but how would I teach them?
Listening
to NPR one afternoon, I heard someone at a NAPO (National Association
of Professional Organizers) Conference speaking about her work as
an organizer. That was when I realized that organizing was a career
and a way for me to share what I had learned. I contacted the woman
I heard interviewed. I worked as her associate organizer for a year
before deciding to branch out on my own.
I wanted
to share with other moms the things I learned. Life is always busy
but there is a way to find peace and satisfaction. Let me help you
create Simple Solutions for you, for your home and for your life.
